Caterpillar?s Surface Mining and Technology Division is currently seeking a Lab / Support Technologist for its Tucson Proving Grounds Located in Green Valley, AZ\. In this role you will Install, program, and operate instrumentation and test equipment for the development of new mining and construction equipment\. Apply expertise in instrumentation and data acquisition to support test and validation programs at the Caterpillar Tucson Proving Ground\. Lead a small team of technicians support instrumented tests and validate that the resulting data meets the needs of the product development team\.
Apply technical \(electrical, electronic, and mechanical\) skills to install sensors, wiring, and data acquisition equipment on mining and construction equipment for the purpose of test and evaluation of safety, quality, performance, and efficiency of mining and construction equipment\.
Make safety and health a priority during all work \(and home\) activities\. Engage in Caterpillar's culture of safety and participate in efforts and activities to continuously improve the safety of operations\.
Install instrumentation to measure critical system and subsystem operational parameters including temperature, pressure, flow, strain, load, speed, and acceleration\. Perform all aspects of planning, execution, documentation, system programming, and validation of results\.
Perform programming and run data acquisition systems to gather quality data during operation of large equipment\. Validate and troubleshoot test setups to ensure they are free of defects\.
Provide technical support, direction, and advice to engineers and instrumentation team members during test setups and during field testing at the Proving Ground\.
Work with other technicians, engineers, technologists, mechanics, operators, and logisticians in a collaborative team environment to complete complex tasks safely, with the highest quality, while meeting project schedules and budgets\.
Provide input to supervisor and team for continuous improvement \(CI\) and capital projects to improve safety, quality, velocity, and cost\. Aid supervisor in the implementation of other employee?s CI ideas
Travel up to 25% to support testing of machines at customer sites around the world\.
+ Associates Degree in an Electronics, Electronics Technology, Mechanical, or related technical field
+ 3 years experience in instrumentation, electrical repair, electronics, electrical component development, or other related technical area
+ Fundamental knowledge of transducers and instrumentation
+ Technical and mechanical aptitude and familiarity with Caterpillar products, services, and policies
+ Ability to work well with technical and non\-technical oriented people
+ Good oral and written communication skills ability to delegate, coach, and mentor coworkers
+ Experience with Caterpillar?s suite of validation management tools \(Workflow, IronFlow, others\)
+ Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers and customers
+ Able to use a personal computer to access work management systems and documents and basic proficiency with MS Office \(Excel, Word and PowerPoint\)\.
Additional information:
This position requires the selected candidate to work in a in a variety of environmental conditions \(i\.e\. inside/outside, hot/cold/inclement weather, dusty environment\), and will require the individual tooperate a motor vehicles, other vehicles, equipment, machinery or power tools andto work for extended periods of times\.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
